Why we’re building Northbound.
I know what a Friday
deadline feels like.
I spent 12 years project-managing traffic studies. I know the feeling of finding an issue at 1 p.m. on Friday when the study is due at 5.
I’ve felt the pressure to deliver with too little time to check every number. I’ve answered city reviewers’ questions about issues I didn’t create, fielded developers’ calls to get it over the line, and gone over budget fixing things I wish I’d caught earlier.
I want to sign off knowing I can stand behind the technical quality. We built Northbound to help you do the same.

A few things to know before bringing another tool into your team's process.

Before onboarding, we confirm your source files, reporting formats, enabled checks, and any firm- or project-specific requirements. Configuration is scoped with your team so you know what is supported before relying on Northbound in a live study.
How quickly do results come back?
Northbound runs the QA/QC engine and produces results in seconds. Your team then reviews the findings and makes the engineering decisions.
Do all 50+ checks run on every project?
No. Your engineer or PM can turn individual checks on or off to fit the project, and add manual checks wherever Northbound’s automated coverage ends. Northbound runs the enabled checks; your team completes the manual ones.
Does a completed QA/QC run mean the study is correct?
No. Completing the enabled automated checks is not a certification of the entire study. Review the findings, complete any manual checks, and make and record your engineering decisions.
Does Northbound replace Synchro?
No. Northbound supports the preparation and checking work around your analysis, starting with LOS and queue workflows and Synchro 12. Your team continues to own the model and the engineering decisions. Exact input formats and project fit are confirmed before onboarding.
Is this another one of those AI startups?
No. Northbound will never use AI to run QA/QC. Our QA/QC engine follows programmed engineering logic, not AI-generated judgments. You choose the scope, see the findings, and make the engineering decisions.
Can it work with our reporting templates?
Northbound prepares LOS and queue reporting outputs. Template requirements and any configuration are reviewed with your team before onboarding so you know what is supported and what setup is needed.
Do we need to share a project to join the waitlist?
No project files are needed to express interest. Before sharing confidential material, contact Ollie to discuss project fit and the applicable data-access, retention, and deletion practices.
How can our team get access?
Our pilot program is currently full. Join the waitlist to hear when access opens to more teams. Joining is an expression of interest—not immediate access or a commitment to buy.
